The NYC Restaurant Week Truck is back.
New York has always been the world's leader in mobile cuisine—which is only natural, considering how fast everything moves here. In recent years, the City's grab-and-go offerings have blossomed far beyond the expected pretzels, hot dogs, ice cream, falafel and "street meat," yielding a startling selection of four-wheeled pizzerias, French cafés, bakeries and more. And in honor of NYC Restaurant Week Summer 2010, the City has brought back the beloved NYC Restaurant Week Truck, a heavy-duty vehicle that comes fully loaded with power steering, automatic transmission and an extensive menu of summer soups from some of the tastiest NYC Restaurant Week participants, including A Voce, Dos Caminos, SD26 Restaurant & Wine Bar and Delmonico's Steakhouse—all for just $6 per bowl. These mouthwatering, refreshing delicacies will be available on New York City sidewalks July 12–16. From July 12 to 14, the truck will park in Midtown at Broadway and 50th Street, and from July 15 to 16, it will pull into the Flatiron District at Fifth Avenue and 18th Street.

To make the deal tastier still, one dollar from every NYC Restaurant Week Truck sale will support the work of Hot Bread Kitchen, which bakes delicious, fresh bread and creates jobs for immigrant women. Hot Bread Kitchen will also be supplying the bread to accompany each soup served from the NYC Restaurant Week Truck. No wonder foodies are revving their engines.

Want to know what the truck is serving? We'll be updating this page each morning with the day's menu. See below for today's soups.
