The Macy's 4th of July Fireworks are America's biggest birthday bash, and this year they take on extra meaning. Honoring the 400th Anniversary of Henry Hudson's voyage to what would become New York City, the pyrotechnics explode over the Hudson River for the first time since 2000—approximately 40,000 shells launching from six barges between 24th and 50th Streets. The inspiring display—accompanied by music—is a festive way to celebrate the nation's independence, the City's heritage and the links between New York City and the Netherlands. Millions tune in on TV, but you can be there in person—check the Macy's website for more information.
