description/
If only the walls could talk at this classic Italian joint, which has been serving up pasta and cocktails to neighborhood locals and visitors—including one Lauren Bacall, who signed a napkin now hanging on the wall—since 1952. Sure, the place may still have the same curtains (and maybe even some of the same servers?) it did when it first opened, but there’s something charming about a restaurant that refuses to change, especially in these fast-paced, fast-food times. Step into the time warp, created by longtime owner Fedora Dorato, and feast on chicken Kiev, chopped chicken livers and apple pie.
