NYCGO Logo Eight years after the tragic events of 9/11, the City has opened a preview site that will provide the public with the opportunity to learn about the memorial and museum as well as view the construction progress of the World Trade Center site. Once completed, the memorial and museum will honor the nearly 3,000 people who died after the World Trade Center attacks in both 1993 and 2001. Aside from a garden of oak trees and two reflecting pools that will sit where the towers used to be, the memorial, located on eight acres, will include the stories of some of the survivors.
