Once a retirement community for "aged, decrepit and worn-out sailors," Snug Harbor is today home to a large complex consisting of multiple organizations. These include the Staten Island Botanical Garden, the Staten Island Museum and the Staten Island Children's Museum. With so much to do and see, it's worth spending a day to absorb it all—and with everything located conveniently close there's no need to rush around.
