Architect Herbert J. Krapp built the Ambassador Theatre’s auditorium diagonally—creating one of Broadway’s most distinctive seating plans. This bit of classic NYC ingenuity is one reason that, though the outside looks similar to many other New York theaters, the Ambassador is a New York City landmark. Enough about the architecture, though—the shows really make the Ambassador shine. These days, the main attraction is the Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award-winning Chicago The Musical.
