Food Bank For New York City believes all New Yorkers should have permanent access to affordable, nutritious food. The Food Bank tackles food poverty on three fronts: food distribution, income support and nutrition education; its research helps guide their work toward solutions. The Food Bank helps provide 400,000 free meals per day to New Yorkers in need, reaches thousands of people with nutrition education in public-school and after-school classrooms and puts millions of dollars in the pockets of low-income New Yorkers through income-support services. Every dollar donated to the Food Bank helps provide five meals to New Yorkers in need.
