Flying A
The price usually isn't right here (it's SoHo—what'd you expect?)—perhaps because this shop's looks have been featured everywhere from Nylon to GQ on actresses like Evan Rachel Wood and Taryn Manning. Head to the back for a limited selection of vintage wear in such tip-top condition, you'd think they were part of Flying A's inventory of new goods—which includes its iconic T-shirts and totes, oodles of men's and women's apparel and a fat crop of skinny jeans.

What's in store: Flying A vintage is basically centered around three types of clothing: airy dresses from the '60s, '70s and '80s; lace camisoles; and Western shirts for ladies and gents. There's not much to choose from, but every piece is essentially in mint condition. If you don't see something, though, ask the staff—they're constantly bringing up goods from downstairs.

Price range: Dresses cost either $129 or $149, camis are around $30 and button-downs are about $49.
