On September 13, Harbor Day—one of the culminating events of NYC 400 week—will celebrate NYC's revitalized waterfront and continued friendship with the Dutch. Harbor Day festivities span six major waterfront parks linked by free rental bikes and hop-on/hop-off ferry service. There's no better way to enjoy the outdoors and the splendor of the harbor.
Organizers expect at least 150,000 attendees to join the fun at The Battery, Battery Park City, Hudson River Park, Governors Island, Brooklyn Bridge Park and Snug Harbor. At Battery Park City, Harmony on the Hudson will feature kid-friendly music from the likes of Tom Chapin and Princess Katie & Racer Steve. At Governors Island, the New Island Festival will showcase more than 100 Dutch artists performing cutting-edge music, theatre and more. And all along the waterfront, food, drink, entertainment and activities will commemorate this special moment in New York City history.
