A Shuttle Goes in Brooklyn
Arts & Entertainment
It's just become easier (and cheaper) to experience the best of New York's most populous borough, thanks to a new shuttle that serves the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Brooklyn Children's Museum, the Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Public Library, Prospect Park and the Prospect Park Zoo.
The shuttle service, instituted by Heart of Brooklyn, a partnership of the borough's premier cultural institutions, offers three routes. The First Saturdays shuttle, running from 5 to 10pm in conjunction with the Brooklyn Museum of Art's monthly party of the same name, takes visitors from the museum to some great places to eat, drink and shop in nearby neighborhoods.
Other weeks of the month, the Saturday Scene shuttle makes continuous loops from the cultural attractions to one of three Brooklyn neighborhoods: Bay Ridge (second Saturdays), Red Hook (third Saturdays) or Williamsburg (fourth Saturdays).
On Sundays, the Museum Mile to Brooklyn Style shuttle, with stops at Bryant Park and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, brings in visitors from Manhattan.
Whether you're taking the kids to the Children's Museum for a day of educational adventure, immersing yourself in the masterpieces at the Brooklyn Museum or just looking for a leisurely day of shopping and eating, getting there is free and easy.
