Syfy and the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation are joining together to bring you haunted houses, fall festivals, monster mazes and more at special Halloween events in public parks throughout the five boroughs. Read on for more details, and use the links below to navigate by borough.

Staten Island

Not-So-Scary Halloween Playground Bash!
October 19, 4–7pm
St. Catherine's Park Playground
October 26, 4–7pm
Carl Schurz Park Catbird Playground
Bring the kids for an evening filled with ghosts, goblins, spiders and other creepy critters.

Central Park Pumpkin Fest
October 27, 11am–3pm
Central Park Bandshell (mid-park, 66th to 72nd Sts.)
Celebrate the City’s annual harvest season fest with arts and crafts, a haunted house, marionette show and musical entertainment. Children can take home a pumpkin that they can decorate themselves at the official Syfy Pumpkin Decoration Station.

Haunted House
October 29, 6:30–9pm
Jackie Robinson Recreation Center (85 Bradhurst Ave. at 145th St.)
Each room in the house depicts an urban legend such as “who’s under the bed or in the closet?” or “who’s at the door after wishing on a monkey’s paw?” Also, enjoy face painting, pumpkin decorating, a costume contest (for children 12 and under), games and more.

Haunted House Maze
October 31, 6:30–9pm
East 54th Street Recreation Center (348 E. 54th St. bet. First and Second Aves.)
Brave the haunted maze–eerie music, fog, black lights and strobes add to the thrill. Monsters, zombies and even Dracula in a coffin, are on hand for this Halloween event. For those who don't like to be frightened, there’s face painting downstairs.

Haunted House on the Hill
October 31, 6–10pm
Inwood Hill Nature Center 218th St. (at Indian Rd.)
Come celebrate Halloween, ranger-style. . . if you dare! The Nature Center gets taken over by creepy creatures, and there are surprises around every corner. Wear your costume and make it a magical night.

Hunts Point Halloween
October 31, 6–9pm
Hunts Point Recreation Center (765 Manida St. at Spofford Ave.)
St. Mary’s Halloween
October 31, 6–9pm
St. Mary's Recreation Center (450 St. Ann’s Ave. in St. Mary's Park)
Both Hunt’s Point and St Mary’s rec centers have some Halloween-night fun in store for the whole family. Visit the haunted houses and pumpkin patches; compete for the best, scariest and most creative costumes; and celebrate the spookiest night of the year with face painting, games and music.

The Phantom of Von King
October 27, 11am–noon, 3–4pm
Von King Cultural Arts Center (670 Lafayette Ave. at Marcy Ave.)
Tickets to this production are free, but reservations are required. Call 718-622-2082 to reserve seats.

Annual Halloween Party and Haunted House
October 31, 4–7pm  
Brownsville Recreation Center (1555 Linden Blvd. in Brownsville Playground)
Children 10 and under can join the spooky fun as the Brownsville Recreation Center is transformed into a haunted house.

Thriller at the Battery
October 26, 6–8pm; October 27, 6:30–8:30pm
Fort Totten Park (Weaver Rd. and Totten Ave.)
Every Halloween, a haunted shipwreck brings ghosts and ghouls to the historic Battery. The rangers will be leading the way through this fright fest. Bring your flashlight, but leave your fear at home.

October 30, 4–8pm
Playground for All Children (111-01 Corona Ave. at 111th St.)
Get into the Halloween spirit with a haunting experience for the whole family, complete with games and crafts for kids.

Staten Island
Rock-a-"Hallo" Blade: Rollerblading at Faber Park
October 13, noon–3pm
Faber Field House (Faber St. and Richmond Terrace)
Bring your inline skates—and your costumes—for family fun on the move at Faber Park.

Pooch Parade
October 20, noon–3pm
Wolfe's Pond Park (Holton Ave. to Cornelia Ave. bet. Staten Island Railway and Raritan Bay)
At the annual Pooch Parade, contestants show off their costumes and are rewarded with free treats from the SI Rec "Barkery." Competitions for the shortest tail, longest tail, pointiest ear and pet-owner look-alikes are among the festivities.

The Greenbelt Monster Mash
October 30, 4:30–6pm
Greenbelt Recreation Center (501 Brielle Ave. across from Sea View Hospital)
Children ages 2 and up can pick apples, join an egg-on-the-spoon race, get their faces painted and more.
