The volcanic ash blanketing parts of western and northern Europe has resulted in flight cancellations for numerous visitors going abroad from New York City. To help stranded travelers make the most of their extended stay, nycgo.com has gathered an array of resources to make your extra days in the City as comfortable, pleasant and wallet-friendly as possible. The guide includes airline contact numbers, transportation options, and special discounts at local hotels, as well as information on affordable dining, free museum admission and all the other essential information you need to plan and enjoy the rest of your time in NYC. The guide is also available at all Official NYC Information Centers and as a downloadable PDF. Other Offers
CityPass, Inc.
For travelers stranded due to the Icelandic volcano's disruption of air service, New York CityPass, in cooperation with its partner attractions, is waiving the standard nine-day validity period for its ticket booklets. Until the ash cloud dissipates and air travel returns to normal, stranded travelers should identify themselves at the participating attractions when purchasing and/or using their New York CityPass. The attraction's staff will mark the booklet, indicating that the validity period has been waived. New York CityPass booklets include admission tickets to the Empire State Building, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), The Metropolitan Museum of Art, American Museum of Natural History, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island or a Circle Line Sightseeing Cruise, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum or Top of the Rock Observation Deck. For more information, visit citypass.com.
