Plan Your Trip
Throughout New York City, there are restroom facilities you can use while you're out and about sightseeing. A few tips:
•You can find a full list of New York City parks with public restrooms—including the notable Bryant Park toilets, replete with fresh flowers, attendants and marble countertops—at the Parks Department website.
•Other popular public restrooms include those at transportation hubs like Grand Central Terminal. And New York City Police Department stations will let you use their bathrooms if you ask.
•The City has contracted to build new street furniture, including 20 automatic public pay toilets. These cost 25 cents per 15-minute use. So far, there is one facility in Madison Square Park in Manhattan and another at Corona Plaza in Queens. More are on the way.
•Finally, most sizable department stores, large-chain bookstores and restaurants offer restroom facilities for their customers.
