  • Queens Museum
Any visit to the Queens Museum should begin with a look at the famous Panorama, a detailed three-dimensional map of the entire City, constructed for the 1964 World's Fair. The museum's collection of Tiffany glass is second to none (Tiffany maintained a foundry in nearby Corona), and the temporary exhibitions are frequently daring. Also note the building's colorful history: it was constructed for the 1939 World's Fair, occupied by the General Assembly of the United Nations and used again for the fair of 1964 and 1965. In that vein, current draws to the institution include That Kodak Moment, an exhibition of photographs from the two fairs, and World's Fair Visible Storage, which features more than 900 fair-related items.
