Please note: this business is now closed; nycgo.com keeps record of many old and closed venues. When the American Federation of Musicians moved its union offices to 50th Street and Sixth Avenue in 1935, the time was right for saxophone salesman Manny Goldrich to open Manny’s Music. It quickly became the instrument retailer of choice for many musicians, including Hendrix himself. Pete Townshend, the Beatles and a 14-year-old Paul Simon are among the shop’s famous clientele.
