The American Black Film Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary this year of shining a spotlight on independent narrative, documentary and short films by and about African-Americans. Founded in 1997, the festival has grown exponentially over the years, encompassing screenings, panel discussions, master classes, a stand-up comedy competition and a final night "ABFF Honors" event, which recognizes the year's best movies and the accomplishments of film luminaries.
