One of the world’s most famous comic artists, Art Spiegelman has been blurring the line between high and low art for decades. He is best known for his Pulitzer Prize–winning graphic novel Maus, about his parents’ survival of the Holocaust, and also worked as a contributing artist for The New Yorker for a decade, where he created many famous, thought-provoking and often controversial covers. The Jewish Museum celebrates Spiegelman’s work in this exhibition, which includes more than 300 sketches, preliminary and final drawings, prints and other documentary materials that serve to highlight his creative process.
