Back to Eden

June 27 – September 28, 2014

Museum of Biblical Art

1865 Broadway (Bway/61)
Manhattan, NY 10023

description/

The biblical story of the Garden of Eden has an ongoing impact on the art world. This exhibit explores the role the Garden has played on contemporary artists, specifically the relationship between humans and the natural world around them.

Pieces in this exhibit include Barnaby Furnas’s The Fruit Eaters and Jim Dine’s Garden of Eden, but also works that draw parallels between contemporary New York City and the Garden (Marina Zurkow's dystopian Times Square and Alexis Rockman's Gowanus). For more information, visit mobia.org.
