In honor of the Arms and Armor Department's centennial, the exhibition looks at the career of Dr. Bashford Dean who founded the department. Dean began installing the Met's armor collection soon after he began his career at the museum in 1904 as a guest curator and, throughout his tenure, laid the foundation for the department as it exists today.
