Portraiture experienced a resurgence in America during the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. This exhibit, which includes more than 60 pieces by artists including John Singer Sargent, James Carroll Beckwith, Daniel Huntington and Benjamin Curtis Porter, explores the legacy of the American tradition with a particular focus on those active in New York City.
