Although a lesser known artist due to his death at a young age, Valentin de Boulogne is considered to be the greatest French follower of Caravaggio. His work served as point of reference for 19th century realists including Courbet and Manet. This monographic exhibit comprises forty-five of his sixty remaining paintings, including the Louvre's entire collection of his work.
