In case you're wondering, pétanque is a French game in which players throw metal balls ("boules," en Française), trying to get them as close as possible to a smaller wooden ball (the "cochonnet," en pétanque). And if that description reminds you a little of bocce, well, that's understandable—but note that Bryant Park doesn't offer it.
