Celebrating 100 Years of Einstein's General Theory

The Morgan Library & Museum
225 Madison Ave.
Manhattan, NY 10016

Albert Einstein published the general theory of relativity, an expansion of his 1905 special theory of relativity which introduced E=mc2, in 1916. In honor of this centennial, this pop-up features three Einstein items including a letter from the scientist to astronomer Erwin Finlay Freundlich, who was attempting to confirm the general theory through astronomical observations. The other items on display include a written summation of the special theory in Einstein's own hand. For more information, visit themorgan.org.
