April 4 – September 28, 2014
200 Eastern Parkway
Brooklyn, NY 11238
Before the installation piece The Dinner Party garnered her big-time attention in the late 1970s, Judy Chicago was a pioneer in the California art scene. The Brooklyn Museum celebrates her 75th birthday by looking back to her early work in Los Angeles. The survey comprises nearly 60 pieces in a variety of media (paintings, photographs, drawings, videos), highlighted by a reconstruction of her minimalist sculpture Rainbow Pickett, her Female Rejection series of drawings and other iconic works.
