NYCGO Logo Since 1996, the Lincoln Center Festival has provided a showcase for the best in performing arts from around the world, including opera, chamber music, theater, multimedia performance, ballet, modern dance and multidisciplinary works. This year's lineup includes 48 performances by artists and ensembles from France, China, England, Serbia, Japan and the US. This year, the festival features rare performances of Noh theater by veteran actor Kiyokazu Kanze; a rousing concert by Goran Bregović's Wedding and Funeral Orchestra; Shakespeare's Globe's production of The Merchant of Venice with actor Jonathan Pryce; a multi-performance celebration of composer Steve Reich; and Paradise Interrupted, a new opera by Huang Ruo, among others.
