September 10, 2013 – January 12, 2014
The Morgan Library & Museum
225 Madison Ave. (Madison/36)
Manhattan, NY 10016
The letters and postcards that J. D. Salinger sent to aspiring writer Marjorie Sheard between 1941 and 1943, which are on public view for the first time, provide new insight into Salinger and his early career. The exhibit includes one letter where Salinger describes "the first Holden story" about a "prep school kid on his Christmas vacation." For more information, visit themorgan.org.
