The Costume Institute's fall exhibition explores the collection process behind its shows of the past 10 years. For Masterworks, the show’s curator, Jessica Regan, chose 60 pieces from different eras—mostly of women’s wear, with some men’s items and a few accessories thrown in—and each comes with a thorough explanation of its significance in fashion’s history.
