Ninth Avenue International Food Festival
May 17, 2014
Ninth Avenue bet. 42nd and 57th Streets
What's cooking in Hell's Kitchen? What isn't cooking in Hell's Kitchen is the question that's more to the point. Since its inception in 1973, the annual food festival has become a westside institution. The 15-block gastronomic extravaganza, which bills itself as the City's oldest and largest food festival, features the cuisines of Poland, Greece, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Mexico, Indonesia and even barbecue and Cajun from south of the Mason-Dixon line, with music and dancing to accompany the foodstuffs. Merchants are on hand, selling jewelry, crafts, clothing and other wares, and there are plenty of amusements for the youngsters. For more information, visit ninthavenuefoodfestival.com.
