The New York Philharmonic's annual weeklong tour of the City's parks has a long history of bringing free classical music concerts to all five boroughs, including Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx (June 13), the Great Lawn in Central Park (June 14), Cunningham Park in Queens (June 15), Prospect Park in Brooklyn (June 16). An indoor concert at Staten Island's Music Hall at Snug Harbor (June 18) ends the celebration. In 2017, the series serves as the finale to the Phil's season-long New World Initiative, and Dvořák’s New World Symphony will be played at each concert.
