Thanks to the Public Art Fund, the southeast entrance to Central Park—at Fifth Avenue and 60th Street—has become a reliable place to find worthwhile works. Swiss artist Olaf Breuning takes up residence in Doris C. Freedman Plaza (as the stretch of pavement is officially known) with Clouds. Evoking a child’s drawing, the cartoonish polished-aluminum clouds will tower overhead, supported by a treehouse-like tangle of steel supports. So, on your way to the zoo, look up and recharge your sense of wonder. For more information, visit publicartfund.org.
