Percy Sutton Harlem 5K Run

Percy Sutton was Manhattan borough president in the 1960s and ’70s—a running advocate who helped make the New York City Marathon the five-borough event it is today. To honor his legacy, the New York Road Runners host this 5K in Harlem to cap off the month-long Harlem Week celebration each summer. The run takes place in and around St. Nicholas Park and also includes a 1.5-mile walk and kids’ races.
