Each summer the River To River Festival takes over downtown Manhattan for 10 days of free performances, exhibitions and events. This year’s highlights include a multimedia opera about Robert Moses and Jane Jacobs, a concert by Amir ElSaffar & Rivers of Sound and open studios for artists located throughout Lower Manhattan. Also, there will be a premiere of an immigration-based story called Harbored by En Garde Arts which will be a site-specific performance touching on timely themes of the American Dream and the search for acceptance.
