For more than three decades, New York's Public Art Fund has redefined the City’s aesthetic, playing a vital role in helping great art reach the people. It seems fitting then, that one of the fund's 2011 exhibitions is a tribute to another man who helped bring art to the masses: Andy Warhol. The Andy Monument, by sculptor Rob Pruitt, will debut in Union Square this spring, a short stroll from where the Pop Art pioneer's legendary Factory once stood. The 10-foot statue will depict Warhol as he used to appear on this very block in the 1970s, handing out copies of his magazine, Interview. For more information, visit publicartfund.org.
