description/

Louis Armstrong played his final set of shows at the Waldorf Astoria in March 1971. Rather than focus on Satchmo the performer, jazz critic and historian Terry Teachout’s play looks at the man behind the trumpet, and how he navigated his way through a society in upheaval. Obie winner John Douglas Thompson plays the roles of Armstrong, Miles Davis and Armstrong's manager Joe Glaser.
