Glenn Close reprises her role as Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard on Broadway—a role that won her a Tony in 1995—transferring from a well-received London run. In case you don’t remember (or haven’t seen the movie), Norma is a silent-film star who is suffering from a case of faded beauty and failed ambitions thanks to the invention of “talkies”—that is, until she meets Joe Gillis. The limited-run show features a 40-piece orchestra playing the tunes of Andrew Lloyd Webber. Direction is courtesy of Lonny Price, who was at the helm of the aforementioned London production.
Audience: Not for younger children (5+)
