Timed for the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg (July 1–3, 1863) and the New York City Draft Riots (July 13–16, 1863), The Civil War and American Art explores the impact of the Civil War on American art and artists. Through the work of artists including Winslow Homer, Eastman Johnson, Sanford R. Gifford, Frederic E.
