The US Open, by far the nation's biggest tennis tournament, returns to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center August 29 through September 11. The Grand Slam event brings together the world’s best players along with great food, kids’ activities and musical performances, and draws fans from around the globe. Novak Djokovic, the defending men’s singles champ, will be back to try to retain his title. Last year’s victor on the women’s side, Flavia Pennetta, retired; regardless, Serena Williams will be favored to capture another championship. During Community Day, on September 8, there's free admission for doubles matches, family entertainment and more. For tickets, visit ticketmaster.com.
