Hotel Development in NYC

New York City has been adding more hotel rooms at a faster rate than the national average, with new properties springing up as existing ones are being spruced up across the five boroughs. From boutique hotels and family-friendly properties to luxury and super-luxury brands, the City's rapid development brings depth and design to its mix of its already-diverse accommodations, as well as more affordable options, greater sustainability and the latest in amenities.

The 2013 report covers 110 projects, with more on the horizon, looking at new construction, the conversion of office and historic buildings and other sites, as well as slated renovations of many of the City's best institutions. Since 2006 the City has added 74 hotels and a net increase of more than 13,500 rooms. Today the City has more than 92,000 rooms in its inventory, and is slated to add more than 15,000 rooms over the next three years.
