description/

A photography exhibition presented jointly by Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Morrison Hotel Gallery, In the Best Possible Light showcases more than 40 of Herman Leonard’s black-and-white images of jazz greats. Leonard captured all the big names, onstage and off—Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, Billie Holiday—creating a gorgeous public record. Jazz at Lincoln Center concurrently presents the concert series "Soul Jazz of the '60s," featuring the good-time music of Art Blakey, Cannonball Adderley and Horace Silver, October 22–24.
