With Spike Jonze’s live-action Where the Wild Things Are raising a box-office ruckus, the time is right to appreciate the creator of that favorite and fanciful children’s book, Maurice Sendak. The 81-year-old author is the subject of an exhibition at the Animazing Gallery, where more than 200 of his works are on view and for sale; the collection features lithographs, sketches and watercolors, including some from the Wild Things days.
