Customer service at Fopp's is so individualized, the store's hands-on matriarch compares her 22-year-old clothing boutique to bridal mecca Kleinfeld—minus the gowns. French boutique owner Neomi Goureau's colorful phrases and wild gestures will make you smile as she helps you find something special from her impeccably curated collection. The two-story space is intimately scaled, with cozy residential flourishes dotting the rooms. Despite the shop's domestic ambiance, the garments for sale aren't for staying at home. The first floor showcases mostly separates, sweaters and blazers for workdays, while the second level houses fancier wardrobe choices for evening cocktails. A majority of the womenswear bears a COURAGE.b label, the in-house collection that Goureau designs. For next season's collection, Goureau says she's finding inspiration in aubergine.
