getting around.

With its five boroughs, countless neighborhoods and busy streets, NYC might seem a bit overwhelming at first, but it doesn’t have to be. In fact, getting around town is actually pretty simple once you get your bearings. In Manhattan, avenues run north and south, and streets run east and west. From there you’re all set to navigate on your own. And remember to take advantage of our fantastic public transportation system, MTA New York City Transit. There’s no better way to get to know the rhythm and feel of a city than by riding subways or buses with the locals. And if you prefer to get around by taxi, you’ll have no problem hailing a cab to get from here to there.

experiencing nyc.

You’re in luck. The IPS arrives in New York in the fall, an ideal time to visit the City. A walk in Central Park amid the gorgeous autumn leaves is a must, as is a stroll down Fifth Avenue to see the luxury stores—and maybe even get a jump on your holiday shopping. Fans of the arts will have plenty of options as well. Fall marks the kickoff of the New York Philharmonic, Metropolitan Opera and Jazz at Lincoln Center seasons. And, of course, you can always see a classic Broadway show like West Side Story or a newer Broadway sensation like Jersey Boys. No matter what you choose, make sure you check out nycgo.com before you arrive for tons of ideas on how to make the most of your time here in the City.
