NYC Hotel Room Occupancy Tax Update
On March 1, 2009, the NYC hotel room occupancy tax increased by 0.875%, from 5% to 5.875%, and the tax is scheduled to conclude on 11/30/2011, prior to the first day of the 12/2011 billing cycle. This will bring the total tax on an NYC hotel room to 14.25% + $3.50/room/night.
