You don't have to be a huge literary fan to appreciate the bookish formalities of this Midtown bar—but it does help. In the winter, would-be Hemingways hunker down next to the fireplace with their not-cheap cocktails to contemplate ideas for their novels; while in summertime, the same writers and poets drag on cigarettes outside, discussing The New York Times' latest best sellers. A sports bar, this is not.
