—Weekend of September 11 Offers Ways to Volunteer, Donate and Remember —
New York, NY (September, 9 2009)— NYC & Company, New York City’s marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced its Go Local activities for the weekend of September 11. This weekend, New Yorkers and visitors alike are encouraged to give back to the City as a positive way to remember 9/11. NYC & Company’s Go Local initiative provides residents with suggestions for free and low-cost weekend activities, inspiring them to explore the City and support local business.
“The events of 9/11 have been ingrained into the collective experience of all New Yorkers as a significant moment in New York City’s history. In retrospect, that day has become a symbol of service, unity and compassion,” said NYC & Company’s CEO George Fertitta. “This weekend, we encourage New Yorkers and visitors to take time out of their busy schedules to lend a helping hand—no matter how you choose to give back, it is important we show the world New York City’s great and caring community.”
This weekend, New Yorkers can commemorate 9/11 by providing service to the City and its residents in various ways.
