Front Toward Enemy, which refers to directional instructions on a US military mine used in warfare, is a dark, masculine space with black leather booths, long tables and a gorgeous, glossy wood bar. Don't miss the intricate woodwork overhead either. Co-owners Tim Lorito and Matt Dill hired barkeeps whose resumes include such cocktail bastions as Pegu Club, Death & Company and Dutch Kills, so drinks are meticulously made with the best quality, hand-chipped ice. The American saloon fare include snacks like fresh-shucked oysters, charcuterie and cheese plates as well as heartier dishes like braised lamb shoulder, beer-battered fish and chips and a Black Angus burger with bacon-onion marmalade and cheddar on brioche.
