Rustic and industrial chic, Hecho en Dumbo got its start sharing space with the Dumbo General Store in Brooklyn. Its fervent following persuaded partners Danny Mena and Ethan Smith that they could think bigger. When they relocated across the river in Manhattan they kept the name, brought their devotees with them and maintained the same dedication to local and organic ingredients. There's classic guacamole, soft tacos and queso fundido with organic chorizo, as well as more elaborate dishes like butterflied pompano in cilantro and achiote rubs, served on a bed of grilled hearts of palm, and lamb shank confit stewed with avocado leaf.
