For fresh, traditional sushi, you can either hop on a plane to Japan or head down to this East Village eatery (we recommend the latter). Kanoyama is packed with people who swear by its omakase dinners, broiled miso black cod and avocado king crab roll, so call ahead for a reservation or be prepared to wait. Don’t expect super-low prices, but it’s worth it.
