Central Park Film Festival

Stave off the summer heat at this annual outdoor film series, now in its 10th year. Details of this year's festival are yet to be announced, but expect the movies to be crowd-pleasers: last year's event featured musical fantasias El Cantante, Bird, Dreamgirls and Shine a Light. Screenings will be held just north of the Sheep Meadow (enter the park at 72nd Street). Come early (gates open at 6:30pm) to snag a good seat.
