As the summer sun continues to heat up the streets of New York City, don’t miss some of the cool events happening around town. There’s a lot taking place in Queens this month, including the annual Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, the Queens Theatre in the Park Latino Cultural Festival and the US Open Tennis Championships. In the Bronx, Yankee Stadium is hosting one of the most anticipated European football events of the season, AC Milan vs. Real Madrid, while the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival celebrates its 20th anniversary with loads of special programming throughout the City. Head out to Staten Island for fun in the sun with Back to the Beach, or if you’re more interested in staying cool indoors, see Snug Harbor’s production of the Broadway hit Lombardi. View the full slideshow for more information on these and many other events.
